Why Leasing a Solar System is a Bad Idea
We have occasionally come across customers who in the past, have leased their solar system.
We have seen customers happy with this transaction and customers who are very unhappy with the transaction. One of the concerns which has come into focus is the fact that, at times, the roof upon which the solar sits will have to be replaced. Of course, this is not a problem, with the exception of one thing! That is, that, because these leasing companies have never had any affiliation with any solar familiar roofing companies, they are justifiably concerned that during the removal of the panels, the system could conceivably be damaged.
Although that is a possibility, another problem develops in that regard. The leasing company will try to mandate that the roofing contractor take full responsibility for the future production of the system.
Of course, this is absurd!
Although a roofing contractor, particularly this roofing and solar contractor, can guarantee that the system will be up and running when they finish the roof, it is unreasonable to expect a roofing contractor to guarantee the long term production of the system in which they have had no part of installing initially.
Raneri and Long Roofing and Solar does not offer a leasing program. And of course, there are various reasons, including the reason outlined above , that we don’t.
